Five people are dead and two injured after two shootings in northwestern Wisconsin.
Chippewa County Sheriff James Kowalczyk said deputies were called to the first shooting in the village of Lake Hallie on Sunday night, where the shooter and another person were found dead.
They were a man and a woman but the officers did not say which was the shooter.
He also did not say whether the shooter had killed themselves.
Two others, both adults, were also found injured at the property.
About four hours later, deputies went to a home in the Town of Lafayette, about nine miles (14km) away, to notify the suspected shooter’s relatives.
Instead they found a man, woman and a boy already dead.
The Town of Lafayette is a small community of about 6,000 in Chippewa County.
Police said the shooter is suspected in both shootings, which are being treated as murders.
